This is where you want him/her to end up at the final stage of the intervention. I like to give the breast when the baby is full (or at least not too frantically hungry) so that the baby doesn't always associate the breast with frustration and hunger." Dear Friends: This is an excellent suggestion that works in practice! Mothers have been surprised at the suggestion, and amazed that sometimes the baby will regain interest. Moms that have weaned and still wish some deep intimacy with their babies can also use this technique. warmly, Nikki Lee RN, MS, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CCE, CIMI Maternal-Child Adjunct Faculty Union Institute and University Film Editor, Journal of Human Lactation Support the WHO Code and the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
