rosellina cosentino wrote can anyone direct me where i can find pictures of animals breastfeeding (dogs, cats, rabbits etc.? Hi Rosellina, Is this for your talk with your daughters high school class? Like the great idea suggested by Margaret? I recently did a talk with high school students and discussed different mammals milks and there composition compared to human milk. For visual aids I took one of the childrens fluffy rabbits and showed that and talked about high protein milks for fast growth, a picture from a nature magazine of a fur seal for the high fat milk for blubber and for leaving pup for long time, an empty carton of milk for cows milk for herd animals etc and then a baby sling for use by human mother, in which I was carrying by youngest, as our milk is genetically made so that it is fed to our offspring very frequently over the 24 hours as we are a carry species as opposed to a cache/nest/follow species. I found that the objects used as visual aids worked better than pictures so am now looking out for a cute fur seal toy before my next high school talk. good luck and don't forget to let us know haow it went. regards Susan Susan Day IBCLC Counsellor for the Kalgoorlie-Boulder group of the Australian Breastfeeding Association Mother to 5 breastfed daughters aged 12 years to 17 months *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
