I am wondering about how mothers who are admitted to medical-surgical/ICU
wards are having their lactation needs met. Is there always a lactation
consult? Is it needed? How does the mom get a pump? Where are pumps kept?
Are the patients charged $ for a pump or consult? Are all the hospital
nurses trained in use of a pump and storing milk? Do all the wards have
medication reference books? Are all the nurses required to have an annual
competancy on these topics? Judy
