have been reading some abuot this new privacy of health info effective in usa in april. here is the site i was on: http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa/guidelines/marketing.pdf page 4 of this document specifically says it is marketing but it is ok to give formula and other gifts to mothers leaving the maternity unit. it goes on to say you cannot sell names of pregnant women or mothers to formula companies. i think it says you can do this if you have authorization. i wonder what exactly 'sell' means. what about selling your soul?
