I just had to share with y'all a great experience I just had. I was asked to speak to a class at Wheaton College -- the course these students are taking is Public Health & Nutrition out of the Biology Dept. Most of them are seniors as it is an upper division course. I was to talk on breastfeeding (of course). I can't tell you what a wonderful time I had! There are probably 60 students in the class, 25 men, 35 women or thereabouts. These are not health professionals, but many of them will end up going out on the mission field, many to developing countries. So my talk was titled: "Breastfeeding: Not just a lifestyle choice." and I had 5 main points -- Breastfeeding: A Public Health Issue, a Nutrition Issue, a Medical Issue, a Financial Issue, and a Personal Issue. Loads of questions afterwards from both the guys and the girls -- and then during the break, lots more questions. It was terrific. I hope I'm asked back. I think it beats talking to high school kids any day. They aren't so giggly....it was even better than when I had to lecture to Peds residents. They weren't so giggly.... Jan -- feeling really good tonight in Wheaton *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
