Hi Dawn, after reading your note, I see the conflict that you are describing. Renting on behalf of a LLL group, as part of a LLL group, puts you into a different situation. This is why I went on Leader Reserve after many years of active leadership. It is too hard to keep these separate, for me, and after many years of volunteer work (which I still continue as listmother here, unaffiliated with LLL, of course), I decided that my LC work is my livelihood. I could not afford to give it away any longer. The waters can indeed become murky. I explain how to use the pump, and that takes me 15 minutes. I do not show them how to use the pump in a normal pump rental. Most moms like privacy for that anyhow, at least here in Vermont. As for thinking it over, it's always good to review our roles, our work, and make sure that it still fits for us as we move along the path. Changes can always be made. No one should resent you for that, Dawn. Sounds like you've been contributing well .... Kind regards, Kathleen If someone calls me as a LLL Leader, I can't charge them for my >time. They expect to be able to ask me breastfeeding questions in my role >as a Leader. If it is someone who contacts me as an IBCLC I can charge >them for my time and if they need to rent a pump I have one handy & it's >nice that our Group benefits from that. Thanks for your post, it's given >me something to think about, maybe changing the way we have this set >up. My co-Leaders, however, will probably not be sending you any thanks >;-)) Warmly, Dawn Martin, LLLL, IBCLC, RLC >Austin, TX *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
