Gonneke, For what lengths of time are these Dutch babies being swaddled? An hour, a couple of hours? Our local nurse is keen on it, and demonstrates it to just about every mother on her first home visit just in case they should need to use it. Mostly she advises it for a baby who is "fussy" and has stomach cramps, who won't rest ect. I asked her whether she looks at the babies feeding at the breast - i.e. latch, stool colour (thinking forehind milk here), but she doesn't do this? This is the aspect I find extremely dangerous; another case of one size fits all. It's horrifying to think that you can believe in one method (in this case swaddeling) to solve all "problems".
