Subject: IBCLC BILLING/REIMBURSEMENT IN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN

Dear Lactnet: Our small hospital (400 deliveries per
year located in the UP of Michigan) still
investigating possibility of reimbursement for IBCLC
f/u without much success. Many insurance carriers in
this state do not participate in this type of health
care reimbursement; but we have found that the same
carrier in another state may reimburse. Does this
make sense? Is anyone out there having their hospital
obtain reimbursement for their services?
Yours in lactation,
Debbie Colbert, RNC., IBCLC
