With the large rise in antibiotic use during labor and birth (c-section/
group b strep) I am seeing a corresponding rise in yeast infections in mom
and baby. I know many doctors will prescribe fluconazole with concurrent
antibiotic use in women prone to vaginal yeast infections but I am not
seeing this done for women after birth. Is anyone using a dose of
fluconazole after antibiotic use as a yeast preventative? Any studies on the
effectiveness of this as a treatment? I am familiar with the use of
fluconazole prophylacticly with AIDS patients but am looking specifically
for postpartum use.

Thanks!
