Anyone sending mail to a mail list such as this should send it in Plain Text. Many email clients give the option of formatting messages with background colors, different fonts and font sizes and colors. Some will even let you select a background image. These are done by sending the mail as an HTML document (a web page, basically). Certain email clients are very rude and will carry over formating when you reply to a formatted message, despite your stated preferences. Needless to say, these features don't go over very well for a program (like ListServ) that needs to concatenate everything together and make digests out of the messages. (They are also a problem for those with low bandwidth or whose primary language isn't english.) When ListServ spits them out, then the formatting can go all akimbo. So, check and make sure you're sending Plain Text; forgo the italics and bold buttons and use * when you want *emphasis*. Save the fancy formatting for notes to your sweetie. ;-) regards, Beth Perinatal Educator and TechoGeek -- /\/\ Beth Johnson / o o\ Cosmic Wonderer ( / ^^\) Springfield, MA USA \ M_M/ "Ruling a country is like cooking a small fish-- you have to handle it with care."--Lao Tzu *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
