I am looking at the AAP website as I write, and there is no recommendation
of any Ezzo literature there. They list 14 books under the topic of
'parenting'. None of them are by Gary Ezzo. When I did a search of the
site using 'Ezzo' as the key word, it gave me this:
"Book Search Information There is no information available on the AAP Web
site for the particular book that you are searching for. You will find
numerous baby and child care books in the "Parenting Guides" area of the AAP
Publications Catalog."
In the AAP statement on BF and the use of human milk, they specify:
"Newborns should be nursed whenever they show signs of hunger, such as
increased alertness or activity, mouthing, or rooting. Crying is a *late*
indicator of hunger. Newborns should be nursed approximately 8 to 12 times
every 24 hours until satiety, usually 10 to 15 minutes on each breast. In
the early weeks after birth, nondemanding babies should be aroused to feed
if 4 hours have elapsed since the last nursing. Appropriate initiation of
breastfeeding is facilitated by continuous rooming-in."

So, whoever says the AAP website is recommending Babywise is misinformed.
