Mothers sometimes ask me if it is OK to bath the baby some other time in the day or to skip bathing at some days and they are very surprised and sometimes relieved that that is actually allowed. On the other hand are new moms hardly ever allowed to bath (instead of shower) untiull the pp bleeding has stopped. On a LC seminar a couple of weeks ago we discussed ''therapeutical bathing'' as an option for latching problems in newborns (mom and baby take a nice warm bath together, sometimes called rebirthing) and we came to the conclusion that it is dufficult to have new moms do this because in our country mom is not allowed to bath but baby is, and in other countries mom is allowed to bath but baby is not. Ain't it a strange world we're living in?
