I thought the rule was double birth weight by FOUR months and triple by one
year, because the newborn's growth velocity curve is steadily downward after
the initial spurt in the first weeks (the RATE of growth steadily declines
from one month onward).  You thus wouldn't expect to see as much growth in
the second six months of life as you did in the first six months of life.
