I found information about DHEA in Fetrow and Avila's "Professional Handbook of Complementary and Alternative Medicines." It is a steroid hormone from the adrenal glands. Most commercial forms are produced in Europe and China. It can convert into androgen and estrogen and the side effects can include aggressiveness, hirsuitism, insomnia and irritability. It is not recommended for use by breastfeeding women.

Thyroid problems are best followed by endocrinologists and with the description of this patient it doesn't sound like waiting a bit for an appointment is that crucial. I wouldn't recommend this produce for my clients.
