I know it may be hard for many here to imagine, but some do consider giving a bottle a loving experience. It's so culturally ingrained I think some *are* taken aback at the idea of never ever getting to give their child a bottle, and feel a sense of loss. My own husband was a bit skeptical of not being allowed to give bottles for fun to our second, after enjoying many bottlefeedings with our first. However, after some grumbling, he got over it and now has no idea why it was such a big deal. The idea of never using a bottle being impossible is so ingrained in western culture I don't think most people will agree at the outset never to use one -they simply can't envision it. -Wendey Mother of Olivier (2Feb97) and Kay (11March99) Studying CCE with ICEA Studying LC Living in the 'burbs of Montreal "A child is not a vase to be filled but a fire to be lit" -Francois Rabelais *********************************************** The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
