A little behind on lactnet, so finally trying to get caught up.

Regarding the mom who was told to bf in the back room of the md's office.
 (1) the receptionist was out of line. (2) I wonder if the MD knew that
this happened. (3) not checking a pt. in for an appt. is absolutely
rude! (4) we've all been in positions where we haven't stood up for
ourselves for whatever reason (yes, I'm included in that - believe it or
not!). (5) mom's trying to stand up for herself now. She needs to
inform MD what happened. I bet MD didn't know.

As to personally bf in public and exposing myself, it depends where. If
I'm with some female friends at home (or their homes), I don't care how
much I'm exposed. If I'm in one of the better restaurants in Philly, I
think the sling is best (also lets me eat my dinner). I found most
people had no idea what I was doing when I nursed yael in the sling. One
guy even patted her head - boy was that uncomfortable! But the strangest
thing was hand expressing into an empty water bottle on the New Jersey
turnpike b/c my lovely 5 mo. old had gone on a nursing strike for most of
the day (o)(o)! Had to get it out somehow. Still can't get the last of
the random sprays off the dash of the car :-)
