Some Groups invite fathers to all the meetings, but I think that is pretty rare and generally it happens only if another Series is nearby and open only to women-- that is not set in stone, however. The Group Leaders make that decision, with the help of their "support staff," the LLL Area administrators. Other Groups try to address the needs of the dad and the couple by having periodic "couples meetings," either as an adjunct to the Series meetings on a regular basis, or on a need/demand basis. Part of it may well be cultural-- the LEADER'S HANDBOOK advises Leaders to consider the cultural tone of the community in making this decision. Besides which, in Montreal LLL is part of LLLCanada, which is an affiliate of LLLI and follows procedures and guidelines which are different from LLLI's in some ways. Another example of the differences would be (from the Salon article) the amount of membership fees and Leader dues. Hope this helps.
