Amen re statistics!  Sandy Breck of U of Mich. is really good at that sort of
stuff.  I'm hopeless at reading stats - I like percentages and things that
say "statistically signficant" (or not) and hope they are telling the truth.
 No, I'm a bit better than that, but you're right, we need to look at all the
data.  I still think James McKenna's stuff on co-sleeping is outstanding.
 For those of you that are not familiar with him, he gave a wonderful talk at
ILCA last year - his tapes are still available through First Tape, Inc. in
Chicago.  I think you can get the address out of the JHL.
