Good morning to you all
A mother had 80 cc of her own pumped milk in a bottle - fresh- and the baby
drank only 60 cc.- and it was decided that that was enough for that feeding.
Can the bottle of left over milk be used again in another few hours? Should
it be kept out if the room isn't warm - or refrigerized? Any research
behind that question/answer? And if the bottle of pumped milk was
refrigerized first? We really try not to let this situation happen - HATE
throwing out a drop of Mom's milk - but sometimes it does happen..The NICU
wants research - is there any out there? I'm talking at the moment about a
premmie ( does the age matter?) - but the same question goes for a full term
baby.
Thanks, Leslie Wolff, IBCLC Israel
