The area of breast implants is very interesting. We have all had women with
implants who have plenty of milk and no problems with breastfeeding. And
then there are those who have one problem after the other,.One thing to
consider is why the implants were done. Some women just want larger, firmer
breasts. However, some are having implants because of issues that would make
lactation challenging. One woman showed me her before pictures. She actually
had tiny (almost non existant) tubular, wide spaced, breasts with one bulbous
areolar and one nonexistant areola. The breasts were asymmetrical and so
widely space that they were almost under her arms and not on her chest. The
very reason for her implants indicated that there may be poor or no
glandular tissue. She was relieved to know that lack of milk was probably
anatomical and not her lack of effort. She went on to nurture at the breast
and feed formula by bottle with pride.ANn ANderson
