To Dr. Jack Newman:

<<This mother has had severe breast pain for a month now. Quite typical
of yeast, but not responding to anything, including fair sized doses of
fluconazole (300 mg/day for almost three weeks now). >>

How old is the baby?

The title on the post is Deep Breast Pain, but the pain mentioned is
Nipple pain. If she's nursing the baby occasionally, how is the baby
being fed in the meantime? Pacifiers? Dad's fingers? If there were a
sucking problem or Nipple Confusion, wouldn't the mother feel pain with
the first time back at the breast?

Is the deep pain during the feeding and at times intermittently when not
BF (not continuous pain)? (For example, heat made me letdown, so
sunshine or zipping up my coat made me letdown.) If she had painful
letdowns, and BF stimulates better than Pumping, wouldn't BF therefore
become more painful than Pumping if she were just having painful
letdowns? And therefore, the more she BF the more deep pain.
