I have been working with a patient, her second child, and she has had this
happen with both babies. Her baby is now 2 months old. She has sore, cracked
nipples, the nipple turns blue, and of course she has had pain. She is now to
the point that she is pumping and feeding expressed breastmilk. Finally the
baby is being treated for thrush but only after the "white spots" showed up
in her mouth. Mom has used nystatin on the nipple without relief, cold
compresses help relieve the pain. Finally now she has gotten a prescription
for Diflucan. She is at her wits end and given me permission to see if anyone
can figure out what is going on here. I have research Raynaud's Syndrome and
nipple vasospasm but I don't think its Raynauds. I feel she has deep ductal
yeast with nipple vasospasm. Does anyone have experience with a women that
has continued nipple vasospasm?
Thank you,
