It must have been my upbringing, in Puerto Rico and many decades ago - but
I have never felt uncomfortable using titles like Dr. or Father to those
who worked for and deserved those titles. In fact, having been used to
using the term "usted" which is the formal address in Spanish, to all my
teachers, I had a hard time using the word "you" in English when I went to
Michigan State - I felt I should have a more formal way of addressing my
professors.
My point is, if some of us want to use titles when addressing someone in
Lactnet, I don't think it should bother anyone - just consider it "cultural
tolerance"...
