Nothing official here, just my observations.
First, the letter's "frequent contact" provision has generally been understood to refer to workers in human milk banks to protect the milk from the worker. But anyone who is still uncomfortable, can use gloves if they prefer. A few in my NICU do, most don't.
Second, if there was ever a reported case of transmission of MRSA to a health care worker from handling milk, wouldn't it have been reported by CDC, by OSHA, or other agency?
Third, wouldn't it depend on who has MRSA? Mom? Baby? both? that would change any protocols?
Maybe we need a clarification from the CDC. 
And surely Dr. Wight would know the risks, if any, to health care workers if it's mom who has MRSA.
I always defer to wiser minds.
