From my experience, all pharmacists use the package insert to determine
safety while bfing. A few years ago, I had a prescription and the pharmacist
insisted it wasn't safe. I looked it up in Hale's prior to even picking it up
and it was approved. Last week I had a call from a woman who was taking Cipro
and was told it was unsafe. She was going to stop taking it (it hadn't
occured for her to check before taking it) but she wanted to know how long
she should stop nursing since she'd had one dose. It was not reviewed in
Hale's 2000 (though it sounded fairly safe if needed) and In 2002 it's
approved.
