On the mom who lost baby to BF failure. I have been working with a mom who
has had this happen also. Things were ruff to start with. Baby was a poor
nurser with little milk transfer taking place. baby was hospitalized for
dehydration send home after 48 hours no follow up or instructions on
breastfeeding , parents are self- pay. Baby immediately went down hill again
that's when I was called and assessed the poor milk transfer, got mom
pumping, fenugreek, after 2 weeks of lots of pumping and formula, baby was
gaining well, but still not doing well with milk transfer. Mom started
reglan , 2 days before she was end the reglan baby began breatfeeding well
and is now totally off all supplements and completely breast fed.Took about
5 weeks of good work and baby is doing great. Mom also is feeling that she
has really accomplished things now. Dee Keith
