In regards to the last few posts to Lactnet about the Blessed Mother nursing
Jesus, here in Florida in St. Augustine, we have a shrine dedicated to the
Blessed Mother nursing Jesus with a statue of just this. It's called Our Lady
of La Leche named by the Spanish settlers. From what I remember they brought
the original statue over from Spain with them, but during the war it was
dropped and broken. The one that is there now is a duplicate. The statue is
beautiful. It shows Mary holding the infant Jesus in her arms (cradle
position) and nursing him. It's in a small chapel where they pray to honor the
woman who not only gave birth to our Lord, but who also gave her precious
milk. Talk about a gift of love.

Merry Christmas,
