nursing
degree.>>

Actually not, Wendy. Everyone just has to have human anatomy, human
physiology, infant & child growth & development, research, nutrition, biology,
psychology (or a reasonable facsimile thereof) and sociology (ditto).

If you are a nurse or other licensed/registered health care professional,
it is assumed you already have all of this, as well as the 6 continuing
education courses they require.

I have a question -- since they now require each of the new (2012)
candidates to have CPR, are they also going to require that it be updated every 2
years? That IS the requirement to maintain certification in CPR. Or is
once in your life enough?

I'm very very sad about the new requirements and I've said that over and
over. I've also pointed out that if we sat around in our spare time and
listed the top 20 lactation consultants today, at least 80% of them would be
non-health care professionals, just amazing IBCLCs.
