I got a call from a mother 9 weeks postpartum who was sent to a doctor for
symptoms of fatigue. Her employer was concerned because she seemed to be
tired all the time. The doc told her she needed a pacemaker and would have
to wean 48 hours before surgery because the milk in her breast would
shortcircuit the pacemaker. I kept a straight face and suggested a second
opinion. She got a second opinion who told her that her heart was fine. She
went back to the first person, had the surgery, and was still tired
afterward. I swear I am not making this up - I still have my log book notes
from it!
