Perhaps something to keep in mind and tell new mothers is what I tell my LLL
group. I point out that this is a bottle-feeding culture and that we
wouldn't need support groups if your mother, your aunt, your sister, and
your friends had all breastfed. That is why there is a need for LLL and
other breastfeeding support groups. If this were a breastfeeding culture
there would be no need.

We have all seen mothers with nursing problems, like sore nipples, that
never would have been if they had had help or support early on.
