Here is the update on the researcher I have been speaking with. I just faxed
him successfully today, about all the interest I have found here on Lactnet.
I have received many e-mail messages and I will respond to them all as soon
as I can. This is what we last spoke of. He explained there is a cytokine
(biological active peptide which stimulates differentiation of bone marrow
cells including lymphocytes) present from birth to approximately 3 weeks post
partum. He explained this cytokine is currently in clinical trials in Europe
and has been employed under compassionate release in the US in specific
clinical settings. I am trying to find out more about these trials. I have
yet to find any information. I have written to just about every AIDS related
research Org. He also said he was really busy completing his IND
applications for clinical trials in Europe and Thailand. I am planning on
traveling to Shreveport in March (if all goes well) to meet with him. As I
stated earlier I sent him a fax explaining the interest from the many
Lactnetters have in his intention to pursue this idea. I should hear from
him soon and I will pass on the info if it is okay with the list owners.
