Hi all,

Does anyone have a breastfeeding friendly hypoglycemia protocol yet? We
are trying to keep mom and baby together, freq nursing etc. to avoid the
problem yet our policy states that if the blood sugar is below 40 feed
1/2 ounce of formula. I would like to write a policy that avoids the
use of formula. Need References!!!

A pedi I work with said that BF is contraindicated in Active TB. She is
getting her Masters in public health at Harvard. Lawerence(1989 ed) says
that it is safe after a week of treatment. Anyone know if this
recommendation has changed?

Thanks,

Jane
