Actually, I would think the opposite: that extra progesterone for
someone with infertility issues is a *good* thing for lactation.
Progesterone plays a major role in the development of the alveoli during
pregnancy, something that I believe is at risk for women with
hormonally-related infertility problems. Progesterone levels normally
rise throughout pregnancy and then drop precipitously after birth to
allow milk production to begin. I can't think of a reason why prometrium
would interfere with breastfeeding, especially when discontinued one
month before delivery.
