Re: Skin to skin after delivery
We have 19 LDRP's and our L&D nurses (who also transition the infants in the room for 4 hours before turning them over to the nursery staff and rooming in) have had great success by discussing early feeding & skin to skin after delivery during labor. We have a lot of family members waiting in the halls after deliveries but our L&D nurses do a great job educating the moms about the importance of delaying family visits to spend time with her infant.
