Hi Monique,
I can't find anything on gentian violet in Lawrence  4th ed, but Riordan and
Auerbach (1993) do not mention anything against GV except for the funny and
stubborn colouring effects and they warn against to heavy use for it might
irritate the infants oral mucous membranes and irritate and ulcerate the
skin. But I do seem to remember an article in JHL some years ago that wasn't
to positive about GV.
