Hi, Judy and Friends: If you have not yet discovered the website:
www.momsrising.com, please go visit. A "buzzword" of 2008 seems to be a
concept called "maternal profiling". I'm sure most of us here in the US are
familiar with the term "racial profiling", in which a person is discriminated
against or harrassed due to their race. According to the MomsRising group, a
similar situation exists in the working world against mothers. Besides the
salary gap, other problems are opportunities for career advancement and basic
treatment of a mother vs. non-mother by her co-workers and supervisors. I
wonder, with our presidential election this year, if any of the candidates
(particularly the one working mother candidate) will pick up and address this
issue.

Who herself is not unfamiliar on a personal level with this concept.
