off the night feeds.

Dear Friends:
    As the mother is away for long hours during the  day, at work,
breastfeeding at night serves an important psychological and  immunulogical function for
this baby. Sudden weaning at night would be the last  thing I would suggest.
    I am more curious about the high carbohydrate  intake during the day. I
am also curious about the family situation,  activity level, and genetics.
Perhaps a medical workup is indicated to see what  is truly going on inside this
toddler?
    It is best to make recommendations based on as  much information as
possible, including a thorough work-up of the baby, instead  of automatically
discounting breastfeeding as a source of the problem.
