Catherine:

Your "Nurse-in" was not only entertaining and chuckle-provoking to read,
 it was inspiring.

When my 2nd child was about 1 yr. old, my Mom, who didn't nurse us (she
gave birth to me in '51 - Dr. told her that redheads can't nurse, and she
swollowed the line, plus who was nursing in Chicago in the early 50's,
right?)
opps...back to the story...so we were sitting together in a big restaurant
and I was nursing on the left breast while shoveling food into my hungry
mouth with a fork in my trusty right hand. Here's the scene:

Mom says, "Honey, don't you think you ought to go to the ladies room (bathroom)
to nurse Shirin?" (This was Chicago suburbs, 1984)

I replied,"Mom, I'll be damned if I'll hide in the bathroom to nurse my
daughter. If someone has a problem with me nursing her here at the table,
let THEM go hide in the bathroom!"
                         END OF CONVERSATION
(I must mention that Mom didn't take offense, she was just sort of
embarrassed and concerned about the situation... I figure if you show
determination and assurance about what you are doing, nobody should hassle
you)

HURRAH FOR YOUR SUNDAY BRUNCH NURSE-IN!

Roberta
