Hello wise ones, I am a peer breastfeeding counselor and am putting out
this request with the permission of one of my peers who is in need. Here is
her email to me:

"I've contacted the local LLL but not received any help. I've also
contacted the LC at the hospital where I delivered but the hospital doesn't
allow her to get involved. I really don't know what to do. I need expert
testimony regarding extending nursing. My son will be 3 on May 20. My
husband filed for divorce and used EBF against me. The judge gave him joint
custody and stated that "it would take care of weaning". Of course it has
only increased the nursing. The judge ordered a case worker to do a home
study. She said she could only support EBF up to two years old. So she also
thinks I'm being harmful to my son. I need information or testimony to
defend the benefits of extended nursing. My court date has been delayed.
It is now scheduled for April 2.  My attorney said so far I have NO support
in the extended breastfeeding area.  The caseworker believes I should have
weaned at age 2 and the judge feels that I probably should have weaned
earlier than that:( I live in the Fort Smith, Arkansas area.  My court case
will be heard in an area (Stilwell, OK) that is also close to Tulsa,
Oklahoma and Fayetteville, Arkansas. I'll take any help I can get!"
