The discussion on pumps is very interesting.

I recently had my first experience with a mother exclusively pumping with
the Lansinoh double pump. Oh my. That pump is finicky. The tops loosen
easily and suction is lost. Milk leaks out underneath regularly even with
careful positioning. Of course, Mom blames herself. I've assured her it
isn't her fault. Her second option? The very basic PNS given out through
Medical Assistance that has on/off switch and suction control only. These
pumps are not appropriate for exclusive pumping. I'm seeing too many
mothers with faltering supplies with these pumps.

Tested an old Pump in Style a couple of weeks ago, the one with the opaque
diaphragm cap, and the suction pattern similar to the Lactina. Suction was
fantastic, Mom getting great results. Too bad they don't make them like
that anymore. I owned one and it lasted for four children (although, the
more kids I had, the less often I pumped, direct bf is so much easier!) The
new PNS don't seem to have the staying power. Not certain how it can be
considered a "once in a lifetime" pump. If you only have 1-2 kids, maybe.

Thank you for sharing your opinions and experience, ladies!

All the best,
