Hi Sam,

We feed our HIV pos babies in our transition home with donor breastmilk and they thrive. Within days of starting them on donor milk the eczema clears, the diarrhoea stops and they have far fewer opportunistic infections. Are there any Human Milk Banks in your area who would be willing to supply breastmilk?

Pam's suggestion of the adoptive Mother pumping and bottle feeding is a good one and she could top up with donor human milk. That would be first prize.

Subject: HIV resources

Usually it's the HIV+ mom! I am working with an adoptive mom with an HIV+
baby. Does anyone have recommendations on breastfeeding or not (the party
line she's gotten is "not") and trusted sources?

Looking into anotherlook, but wondered if anyone had any favorites.

Thank you!
