Hirsutism is a symptom of polycystic ovarian syndrome, also known as insulin
resistance disease or Stein-Leventhal syndrome. It is strongly associated
with low milk supply.

I have encountered this several times in my practice and have found minimal
or no response to increased stimulation or Domperidone. Consequently, when
I meet a women with low supply, I always ask if they had difficulty
conceiving. Women with this condition frequently require medication
(Clomiphene) to ovulate. If the baby latches well, she may feel better about
the situation if she feeds at the breast using a Supplemental Nursing System
of some sort. It is so difficult for women who have had fertility problems,
and then find they don't make enough milk as well.
