Thank you Rachel. Sadly, the mother has been separated from her baby for
the better part of the past week because the boy is in ICU a hospital an
hour away. However, she is with her tonight and tomorrow and nursing
again. :)

The baby was initially given formula because it all happened so fast
that they had to be separated. She was fine at first, taking it from a
cup, but then started to reject it, so the caregiver called me and asked
for some of my milk (based on mom's request) which I happily gave and
baby guzzled it down. So, I'll be passing on some more. :) (I used to
donate to the milk bank, so I've been all safety checked!)

Mom was pumping at the hospital, and will not give her that milk just in
case there's a chance of infection. But now that we're learning about
the effects of fresh breastmilk on E. coli, it's sounding like the sick
boy is the one who needs it! So I'm pumping extra and so is the mom to
try to get it to him. The father is also trying to get the boy to take
Mannatech's Ambrotose, which is known to support immune function at the
cellular level. He's in really bad shape. Any prayers would be
appreciated for the whole family. They'll know if mom has E. coli in a
day or two.

Marci :)
