I have a question from a mom I have been working with. She has
struggled to bring in a full milk supply using domperidone, herbs
(goat's rue and more milk plus) and pumping, as well as seeing a
chiropractor after her baby's traumatic birth. Her baby is now feeding
much better and receiving primarily mom's own milk. Mom had breast
implants quite a few years ago and without the implants there is a
marked asymmetry between her two breasts, which were both small, by her
description. She is wondering if there is any reason to remove her
implants--whether there is any possibility that removing the implants
might improve the chances that she will breastfeed with fewer
difficulties after subsequent pregnancies? Is there any possibility
that implants placed in very small breasts might inhibit ductal
development during pregnancy--or put another way, is there any
possibility that removing them might optimize potential development?
