Hi Malka!

If the placental rupture caused her to bleed too much, she could have 
pituitary injury. Sheehan syndrome is necrosis of the pituitary leading 
to the loss of all pituitary hormones, but some of us have seen women 
with hemorrhages whose pituitaries seemed to be shocked but not dead, 
that recovered over time.

Another possibility is a retained placental fragment. Is the OB willing 
to examine her to rule this out?

Nursing with a supplementer may help preserve the breast tissue 
architecture from remodeling until either the pituitary kicks back in or 
the placental fragment is identified and removed. Of course, there are 
other rare things that could have happened. Are there any unusual things 
happening with her body this time?
