If you go to medscape today, there's a good paper summarized about how tummy
time prolongs exclusive breastfeeding, and breastfeeding in general.

Here's a clip

August 10, 2011 — An early, home-based intervention improves infant feeding
practices and is associated with earlier implementation of "tummy time,"
according to the results of a randomized controlled trial reported in the
August issue of the *Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine*.

"Infant feeding practices are among the most identifiable factors
contributing to early onset of childhood obesity," write Li Ming Wen, MD,
MMed, from the School of Public Health, Sydney Medical School, University of
Sydney in Australia, and colleagues. "Another important aspect of infant
development is regular 'tummy time' for infants. This is a colloquial term
used to encourage parents to ensure that their infants spend time in the
prone position, [which] leads to strengthening of the infant's neck and back
muscle motor movement."

I'm thinking that biological nurturing could count as tummy-time? Us
lactation people can be so smart ;-)
