There is merit to both arguments: scrubs vs professional dress. I like
scrubs, they are easy to clean, move about in, and comfortable, lots of
pockets, and go with comfortable shoes. The prof. dress does seem to
distinguish the LC and elevate him/her to a 'higher level.' To me, it would
be difficult to carry out my duties as a mostly bedside hospital LC in prof.
clothing. If I was mainly seeing clients in an outpatient setting, directing
a program, doing committee work, and staff education I would wear prof.
clothes.
