Yesterday a PHN told me about the time she taught prenatal classes and had a
couple who said they were going to bottle feed but if they had to go out or
were in a rush they would breastfeed! She said well no it does not work
like that exactly. When she called them following delivery the mother said
she was breastfeeding the nurse expressed surprise and said I thought you
were going to bottle feed, mom said well following delivery the nurse
brought the baby to me and said do you want to put the baby on the breast
and she said why not, and she said I liked it so much I just continued! It
is all in the presentation.

Another PHN who breastfed three children for a long time 18 years ago was
flying to Vancouver with her second infant and was breastfeeding. A
concerned elderly gentleman leaned over her seat and said you would think
with the price of these tickets they could at least afford to give you a bottle!

Have a great weekend.
