I am a childbirth educator along with my breastfeeding rules and I cover the
phases and stages of labor in all classes.  I always mention all 4:
Stage 1: labor
consisting of 3 phases: early, active, transition
Stage 2: birth of baby
Stage 3: birth of placenta
Stage 4: lactation

Normal and physiologic!
