Hello all,

I wanted to invite all interested providers or researchers to join an online journal club I've started. If
you're interested, either email me for an invite or go to http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Birth_BF_research/?yguid=465746723 and join that way.

Here's the description:

This group is an online journal club, a place for healthcare professionals or
researchers to discuss recent studies published relating to pregnancy, birth,
breastfeeding, and related topics in perinatal health.

How it works:

Any member is welcome to start a discussion. Pick an article. Post a link to the
full text article if it is available online, or upload the PDF to the files
section. (This is scholarship, so it does not violate copywrite protection. But
if you download a file, please do not distribute it for other purposes without
verifying that it is allowed.)

Please don't post about a study without providing the full text. If you need to
get an article, most public libraries have an interlibrary loan program which
can get it for you free. Many have an online form you fill out, give your
library card number, and you get the PDF by email in a few days.

Please don't post about anything other than primary literature. Not news
stories, opinion pieces, or blog posts. And no announcements here, please.

When you post, please use a subject line that includes the first author, year,
and enough keywords or title to be clear. Example: "Jones et al., 2010,
Domperidone & milk composition." When responding to a comment, or offering
another comment on the same article, please use reply so that it stays in the
same thread.

If you use the "daily digest" to get emails, please DO NOT reply to the whole
digest. That will screw up the threads. Please click on the reply to group or
reply via web post, or just go to the site.

Please DO sign your post with your name, main credentials, and position (i.e.
Jessica Lang Kosa, PhD IBCLC, Private Practice, Boston, or Susan Brill, RN,
Newton Wellesley Hospital.) It's helpful to know peoples' professional
perspective.

Please DO NOT forward or quote anyone else's comments without asking their
permission. This is very important when dealing with opinions on healthcare,
because context is everything.

Please agree or disagree respectfully.
